4.4 x 3.4 CM (miniature)

Spring 2013
From an small, little known find several years ago from the Wah Wah Mountains, a region better known for red beryl found further south from this locale. This specimen hosts a nicely perched, big (2cm) crystal with great luster and an unusually deep green color. Excellent contrast with the matrix, this crystal has been reattached, like every other example I've seen. This specimen has by far the best color of any I know and stands out well for the locality and the specie.

Top color, luster and with great esthetic form, these Pyros are up to 2 CM free standing above the contrasting matrix. There are 2 generations here, the smaller, lighter green crystals have a unusual prismatic pyramidal termination that is very uncommon. The larger deeper "electric" green crystals exhibit the hoppered form and "veil" structures that are classic for this location. In perfect condition by naked eye, with 10x magnification some very tiny broken crystals can be found. Displays well from all sides, this is a the sort of quality that made Daoping Pyros world famous.
Scheelite with Fluorite, Lollingite, Magnetite etc.
stock #AX-14B-122
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region,
China
8.2 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $1150
Spring 2013
From an exciting 2012 find, a single bright Scheelite (3.6 CM) is neatly perched on contrasting matrix. An important note: there has been recent discussion about the yellow green color of some Scheelites with rumors of faking by dyes or other chemicals. This is not certain and may well not be true, but it does have to be considered. Color aside, the form, habit, luster and presentation of these Scheelites are just incredible. In great condition overall, the Scheelite is quite transparent and inclusions of silvery Lollingite are noted with magnification. This find will certainly be remembered as exceptional for the species and the prices of these are already increasing fast even in China.

Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region,

3.8 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $675
Spring 2013
A sweet miniature with exceptional sharp free standing crystals. The crystals are up to about 3 CM tall most of which is aerial. No damage by naked eye on the display face which is incredible for such a delicate mineral. 10 x magnification finds some minor edge chips that are just not noticeable. the back of the matrix has been sawn in order to collect this without damage. Bou Azzer is unquestionably the worlds best locale for many Cobalt minerals and especially for Erythrite. This is far above average.

Tule Mine, Melchor Muzaquiz
Coahuila,

6.3 x 5 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)

Spring 2013
Two very gemmy, zoned purple crystals are perched attractively on a contrasting Celestine. An older example from the collection of Larry White. The Fluorites are exceptionally sharp, clear and show the classic stepping that is the signature of this now classic location. As a bonus the Fluorites are sprinkled with sparkling clear to amber colored Calcites. The dark edge zoning is especially pronounced and the specimen is far better than typical. The display side of this is very clean damage wise, the only cleaves are on the backside that are not visible when displayed.

An exceptionally fine Helvite with great form, color and presentation. The largest crystal is 2.5 CM in diameter, all are in undamaged condition and have the most desirable red to yellow color. The sprinkling of bright red garnets adds an extra sparkle. The location of Tongbei has produced the best Helvites ever seen, and now the location seems to be near the end. These are already modern classics and this specimen is very far above the average with super strong esthetics.
