Fluorite -unusual form, classic locale
Mex-Tex mine, Bingham, Hansonburg District, Soccoro County
New Mexico, United States
6.3 x 6.1 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $360
Late Summer 2018

A rounded highly etched crystal mass that seems to have grown on a flat surface (Barite?) and later come off. Translucent to transparent, this is a multi hued piece and multi stepped as well, this has tones of green, purple and blue. Ex Hitchings collection, obtained in 1967. An unusual piece, the front display surface is finely detailed and remarkably in excellent condition. The back is cleaved and in part re-crystalized, none of which is visible on display. A very attractive Fluorite, better in person, this is not typical for the locale, there is also a dusting of small Quartz crystals that add some sparkle. With any backlighting this glows a good green to purple.
