stock #8.AE-635
Mashaba West Mine, Kolwezi Mining District
Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
5.5 x 3.4 x 3.3 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $230

An open cavity filled with sharp needle-like blue Plancheite crystals and small black spherical Heterogenite which also is crystalized in some spots. An excellent example of the specie and with attractive powder blue color in fine condition. This specimen is illustrated in Mindat as well.

Cobaltoan Calcite and Malachite
stock #AX-12-019
Mashaba West Mine, Kolwezi Mining District
Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
6 x 4.4 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $640

The Cobaltoan Calcites of Mashamba have been gone for more than a decade now, but they are still considered to be some of the best and most intensely colored ever found. This specimen has the most desirable contrast with a small matrix of green Malachite and has several generations of pink to clear Calcite displayed. Sadly there are some edge cleaves or contacts but the overall specimen condition is very good and still displays well. The best Scalenohedral crystals are remarkably clean and free of chipping. There are several possible display angles. Now very hard to get in the mineral market these are unique and quite sought after.

Cobaltoan Dolomite with Calcite and Malachite
stock #18.1-436
Mashaba West Mine, Kolwezi Mining District
Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
6.3 x 3.8 x 2.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $550
Late Summer 2018

The intense color of a good Cobaltoan Dolomite is unlike any other, unique in the mineral world. This specimen has top intense color, and the crystals are unusually well formed, some in tabular habit to 1.1 CM. In excellent condition as seen, this is an older piece collected years ago. Sawn on the back the front side is an open elongated vug that has protected the crystals well. Small dark green Malachite crystals are a nice color contrast. Super display esthetics and electric bright color jump out in any array of minerals.

Cuprite with Malachite, Plancheite etc.
stock #17.1-702
Mashaba West Mine, Kolwezi Mining District
Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
5.8 x 3.7 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $460
Pre Holiday 2017

Big, dark red and lustrous Cuprite Octahedrons are nestled in light blue Plancheite and dark green Malachite. Fine contrast, esthetics and in very good condition. The backside is contacted but not damaged, pitting and face voids are natural some with Plancheite inside. Individual octahedrons are up to 1.8 CM, some with nice edge modifications quite rare at this locale. These have not been coming out for almost a decade. Choice.
