This is an exceptional and very unusual Brochantite from the famed Blanchard Mine. Two cubes of Galena are partly altered to Anglesite (small sparkling clear crystals on all faces) which is a fairly common thing at Blanchard. What is far more rare however is those faces are also overgrown with acicular Brochantite. The resulting green cubes (up to 1.8 CM across) contrast well with the Quartz and Fluorite matrix. We have seen Blanchard Galenas overgrown with Linarite making nice blue cubes but never green Brochantite cubes. A super distinctive specimen. Linarite and Brochantite often occur together at the Blanchard, however on this piece there is no hint of Linarite. A very attractive and important association / pseudomorph from this great USA locality. In excellent condition as seen, this piece is older, pre 1975.

A rich electric blue Linarite that has grown on top of several green-blue Fluorite crystals. From the Blanchard Mine which was a fine source of both minerals though they were not often together. The Fluorites reach to 1 CM and some are almost fully encrusted while others are clearly exposed. Close exam shows the slender habit Linarites on the Fluorite are translucent and glow brightly when backlit. Fine color and a USA classic locale, collected in 1977 by Les Hitchings.

A very rich, sizable specimen of the uncommon Copper Sulfate Spangolite from the famed Blanchard Mine. The Spangolite is covering a quite large area with a few small zones of Brochantite crystals. The mineralized zone on this piece is much larger than the usual tiny patches. This piece has substantial areas of sparkling blue Spangolite with hundreds of tiny, gem clear crystals. The hard rock matrix gives a nice jagged contrast to the mineralized faces. Ex John Buckley collection, this is a far, far better than typical specimen from this classic and well-respected locality. This is one of the very few pieces that looks fine on a display shelf and also amazing under a microscope.

A complex specimen with a mix of bright blue Spangolite crystals in several patches mixed with Brochantites. The Spangolites are sharp and gemmy under good magnification, the matrix is quite colorful and more rich than typical from this great USA locality. Typically Spangolite is a micro mineral in most collections, this has enough good coverage to be visible by naked eye but certainly far more beautiful under magnification.
