A pair of perfect Amethyst crystals on matrix from Goboboseb (Namibia). The crystals are fully transparent with a deep purple core zone and more light-smokey toward the terminations. The matrix has been sawn on the bottom and sides to extract this without damage, there are no repairs. Both tips are perfect, undamaged even viewed at strong magnification. The range and quality of Goboboseb Amethyst is broad and amazing. We are fortunate that this remote location has been one of the world's best sources of fine Quartz and Amethyst at reasonable cost. A good value for a nice specimen in this size and price range.

Gem clear and incredibly perfect, this is a stunning Goboboseb Amethyst that is far better in person. Goboboseb Quartz is world famous for its elegant form but exceptional pieces like this are actually very rare. In impeccable condition and with amazing inclusions this is from that tiny percentage that can be called superb. Sharp negative Quartz crystal inclusions and scepters are seen with magnification inside the lower part of the crystal as are small blood red blades of Hematite. One of the best we have handled, not large in size but quality.

Spring update
A perfect 2 CM glassy Analcime crystal is perfectly set on a contrasting green Prehnite. The matrix also hosts tiny Apophyllite, Quartz and Laumontite that add some extra sparkle. The Analcime from Goboboseb is not well known and almost never this large or transparent. Choice and undamaged, a very good value.

Balls of crystallized Prehnite (up to 2.5 CM) in perfect condition are set on a matrix of Quartz crystals. A few Quartz crystals have breaks but most are undamaged. From the Goboboseb mountains better known for their great Amethysts, this is a bright, colorful and lustrous piece in person.

Pre Holiday 2017
A fine and unusual Brandburg type amethyst crystal in perfect condition, with the very rare addition of Apophyllite crystals on some faces. Classic and esthetic, this is the best example I have seen of this uncommon association. The Apophyllite is gem clear and sharp, most are doubly terminated and all are very lustrous. In the Quartz, movable internal bubbles (enhydro) are a nice bonus. The Goboboseb region has produced lots of Amethysts but the quality, esthetics, condition and the Apophyllites make this one stand out from the crowd. Choice.

Spring 2013
Sharp, lustrous beautiful Amethyst phantom. Some minor Lepidocrocite, the Quartz is especially sharp and clear. A very affordable, fine Brandberg from the Goboboseb.
A superb example of a very fine phantom quartz from this classic location. Pristine, damage free and optically clear main crystal (6 CM tall) is decorated with light green Prehnite balls and holds elegant, wispy phantoms. From every angle this displays well, but my personal favorite is looking straight down from the top (the C axis. The matrix block is sawn on the underside and on some edges, so it sits perfectly on its own. These are often collected using diamond saws to avoid damage. It is possible to further trim the specimen to remove all traces of the sawing, but for me it is fine as is. If you like good quartz, you will love this specimen!
