Topaz on Quartz and Clevelandite
stock #6.2-203
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
7.8 x 6.4 x 4.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $440
new year 2021

Several Quartz crystals are clustered around a single gemmy Topaz crystal set on Clevelandite. The Topaz has some lightly frosted faces and others are glass clear, transparent and very lustrous. The color is a light sherry hue that looks slightly pinkish in some light. From finds in 2004 in Yunnan Province in China, we have not seen such good pegmatite minerals from this region for several years. In good condition overall as seen there is a crack in the Topaz and a chip is noted on one face that is not very evident or distracting. A really choice Chinese Topaz.

Hemimorphite - finger-like growth
stock #16.1-628
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
4.8 x 3.2 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $475
Spring 2017

An exceptionally esthetic botryoidal growth of Hemimorphite with a rich blue-green color. Looks a lot like a Smithsonite. This is in undamaged condition, has perfect wet-look luster and a coating of micro clear Hemimorphite crystals to add a little sparkle. Wenshan has become a world class producer of Hemimorphite but this habit is not at all typical, a very choice miniature.

Hemimorphite
stock #AX-19-151
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
9 x 7 x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $230

A rich and very colorful example of the Hemimorphite from the earliest find at Wenshan. The form and condition are excellent and the more recent finds did not have this habit. Nice blue-green Hemimorphites from classic locales can be very expensive but the better Chinese specimens are often more attractive with much less cost.

Quartz included by Actinolite (Tessin)
stock #9-AE 1076
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
10.3 x 2.1 x 1.4CM (cabinet)
price: $460
Spring 2014

From a small find made 2002 this is one of the best single crystals recovered. Undamaged, sizable at over 10CM long, with excellent luster and translucence. The upper half of this shows a distinct Tessin habit but the lower half does not. Similar to some of the recent Himalayan quartz and the classic Greek included quartz, this has a noticeably different look and texture.
