Schizolite with Kupletskite and Calcioancylite etc.
stock #23.1-156
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
6.8 x 3.4 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $390

An outstanding assemblage of well-crystalized uncommon minerals from the famed Mt St. Hilaire. The large pink Schizolite crystals are slightly radiating and reach over 5 CM. Schiziolite from this locality had been misidentified for decades as Serandite, which also is found there. The Kupletskite is in two forms thin blades in sprays and larger more blocky crystals. The Calcioancylite is less noticeable in very tiny white crystals. Attractive and uncommon species are well-presented in this well-crystalized Alkaline assemblage.

Rhodochrosite with Aegirine
stock #23.1-727
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
2.8 x 2.7 x 2.4 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $180
Pre Tucson

Rhodochrosite crystals clustered with a few slender Aegirine piecing the flat Rhombs. Classic form from Mt St. Hilaire showing the triangular shapes and flattened rhombs that are well-known from this amazing mine. I very good condition, no eye-visible damage and really no matrix either.

Rhodochrosite with Elpidite etc.
stock #23.1-151
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
3.7 x 2.6 x 3.2 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $690

A superb small miniature or "toenail" with a sharp triagonal Rhodochrosite perched on top. In excellent condition the Rhodo is the classic form from Mont St. Hilaire, and has the triagonal center hopper in the center of the largest crystal. Lots of additional micro crystals and species are on the specimen but the Rhodochrosite is really the dominant focal point, it is 2.2 CM across and has very good color. What looks like chipping or damage on a top edge is actually well crystalized with tiny step faces. The Rhodochrosites of Mt St Hilaire took several forms but the triagonal crystals are still the most distinctive and are incredibly rare at all other localities. This specimen was found more than 30 years ago, they were never common and there is nothing now. Classic and esthetic!

Serandite with Behoite - doubly terminated crystal
stock #AX-10-714
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
2.6 x 1.5 x .8 CM (thumbnail)
price: $240
Pre Tucson

A salmon pink to orange crystal of Serandite which is complete and doubly terminated. Choice single crystal with fine provenance. This also has a druse of tiny clear Behoite crystals on some faces. Good luster, form and color. From the noted collections of Elmer B. Rowley, William Hladysz and the New York Sate Museum mineral collection with number NYSM 10633. That label is included, the specimen was collected over 60 years ago.

Zircon with Aegirine, Albite etc.
stock #20.1-832
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
5.7 x 4.4 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $290
new year 2021

Several sharp Zircons are well-exposed from the classic MSH matrix. The largest Zircon here is 1.4 CM across which is huge for the locality and these crystals are very well-defined. Most of the larger Zircon we have seen from Mont St. Hilaire tend to be much more crude than this. Vividly Fluorescent and in fine undamaged condition.

Serandite and Polylithonite with Aegirine
stock #19.1-257
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
2.8 x 2.6 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $80
new year 2021

Multi-specie thumbnail from Mont Saint-Hilaire with a small blocky habit Serandite perched on top. The Serandite has a good orange color and is nicely set on a rosette of Polylithonite. This is a late 1960's vintage specimen.

SOLD Rhodochrosite on Analcime
stock #SOLD 20.1-080
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
4.6 x 3.6 x 2.5 CM (miniature)
price: $0
Spring 2020

A killer miniature with a main Rhodochrosite rhomb 3.2 CM in diameter which is perfectly perched on a cluster of Analcime crystals. The Rhodos are opaque in some areas and translucent in others, perhaps due to some dark inclusions (Birnessite?). The luster is in person impressively bright and glassy, there are some subtle striations and growth structures as well that add interest in person. The faces show a color range and mottling from dark reds, pinks and close to black in spots. Rhodochrosite at Mont St. Hilaire took many forms and color hues, but such well formed, sharp textbook crystals are not common at all. This is an exceptional showy piece in remarkable clean condition.

Serandite w. Aegirine etc
stock #20.1-067
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
5.7 x 4.3 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $975

Serandite crystals up to 3.2 CM with an unusually intense, rich color. This choice piece has a vivid rose pink that looks close to a Rhodochrosite red and contrasts well with the complex matrix. In excellent undamaged condition, the Serandites also have very bright luster. These are also fully translucent and transparent on thin edges. Serandite was never a common mineral and it turns out that many (perhaps most) Serandites in collections are in fact Schizolite and not Serandite. This is a real confirmed Serandite, with top color and form. Outstanding for the size and quality, The classic locality of Mt. St. Hillaire is THE place for this specie, no place else in the world ever had crystals of this size and quality.
