Chalcedony on red Scolecite
stock #18.1-006
Malegaon, Nasik
Maharashtra, India
5 x 3.6 x 3.2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $975
Worldwide mix summer

The "caviar agate" type of Chalcedony that is both very esthetic and now very hard to find. The transparent to translucent balls of Chalcedony are perched on needle crystals of a dark red Scolecite. They really do look like large fish eggs. Rich color and wet look luster make this specimen stand out. There were not many of these found and few had this very bright color. Strange but beautiful Indian specimen.

Chalcedony -"caviar agate" on red Scolecite
stock #17.1-705
Malegaon, Nasik
Maharashtra, India
3 x 2.7 x 2.1 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $420
Pre Holiday 2017

An unbelievable new find! We were able to obtain what so far are the best pieces of the small but impressive pocket in Malegon, Nasik, India. The red to orange Scolecite is in a rounded mass composed of radiating needles. An impressive matrix for the small spheres of Chalcedony (or technically agate) looking like fish eggs in multiple colors. These were named "caviar agate" shortly after they first appeared, and are an amazing companion to the "grape agates" from Indonesia. This has the caviar eggs on small needle-like stalks with excellent form, color and quality. Displays brilliantly under good light as seen in these photos. A fine addition to any suite of Quartz, Agates, Indian trap minerals or simply esthetics.
