Remarkable smooth ball of Prehnite sprinkled with sparkling crystals of Epidote. This is unusual as it is a 360 degree piece and the ball is complete. This habit has been referred to as a "Roman helmet" and is distinctive from this locale as is the dark green hue that is attributed to Chlorite inclusions. In fine condition and a killer thumbnail for the locality.

Spring 23
A gem grade thumbnail Heliodor crystal with slightly etched form and fine color. From 1980 vintage finds at Itinga (Minas Gerais, Brazil) this was obtained in Brazil by noted Northeastern USA collector Les Hitchings on one of his trips to the Pegmatite regions. There are no inclusions or veils inside the crystal which is quite unusual. This is all clean facet grade gem. The color and transparency are first rate, such crystals are very hard to find at all, and rarely in thumbnail size.

Spring 23
A very sharp dark Anatase crystal with a bluish color from the classic Norwegian locality of Hardangervidda. In excellent condition and with fine luster on many of the faces. The area that holds these is quite vast but now nearly all of the well-known spots are in a National Park and no collecting has been done for many years. Although this area had some active mines long ago, the Anatase was only found in the occasional Alpine cleft and not in general mining. These crystals have been prized for well over 150 years and are in all great museums.

A single terminated prism of yellow-green Tremolite from the Skarns of St. Lawrence County, NY. An older specimen collected by Skylar Alverson more than 40 years ago. Skylar had several localities he mined in this region some of which he kept secret through out his lifetime. The Tremolites of this area have become famed for the size, sharpness and overall quality of the crystals. This is a choice thumbnail with good transparency and luster.
Fluorite and Sphalerite
stock #22.1-253
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee,
United States
2.6 x 2.2 x 2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $260
Fall 22
Blue-purple Fluorite in translucent cubes in a fine thumbnail cluster. The crystals are well perched on the contrasting Sphalerite and this glows very well when backlit. These photos were not backlit, with light above and on the sides only, so it shows how it will look in a basic display. The condition is very good, it takes a 10X loupe to find only very tiny edge/corner roughness. The stepped edges and faces give a rough texture that reflects light well. A good clean Elmwood thumbnail that is better in person.
An especially fine thumbnail of elongated Chalcocite crystals some showing the cogs-wheel form of twinning. From the classic Cornish locality of Levant, which operated from 1793 to 1930 which produced some of the very best of British Chalcocites. This style is quite uncommon from the mine and presents well from all sides. In excellent condition with well-defined form and esthetic composition.
