Early summer 2021
A beautiful glassy spray of powder blue crystals radiating upward from a massive base. This is a very old specimen from the classic Sulfur locality that has been mined for many centuries. This type of Celestite with the blue color has sometimes been labeled as Barite but often on analysis is found to be Celestite with some Barium. The piece is attractive despite chips and damage to a few crystals. Very uncommon to find material this attractive on the market, the blue color is especially desirable.

A small but very esthetic specimen from the prolific Fluorspar region of Southern Illinois. Ex. Larry White collection, the Celestite, (or Celestine for many), is a terminated flat prism set on light yellow Calcites. Unusual in its composition, this piece has considerable display impact despite the small size and is in excellent condition. This zone produced many thousands of great Fluorite specimens but very few good Celestites were saved.
A superb cluster of gemmy Celestite crystals encrusting a Sulphur matrix which adds a bright yellow between the smaller Celestites. In perfect condition all around, which is impressive with such delicate form and fine slender crystals. From the famed Sulfur deposits in Agrigento, Sicily, a choice Celestite from anyplace, this is so bright it is hard to capture in photos. Top glassy luster and presentation, this is a specimen that looks great from all angles and has a great impact for its size.

Excellent bright blue Celestite crystals dominate this cabinet sized matrix. From the Pugh Quarry a classic US source of fine Calcite and more rarely Celestite. There is a broken crystal on the backside of the specimen that is not visible from the front. Otherwise the crystals are in excellent clean condition. A very eye-catching specimen with far better than usual color.

Bright and gemmy Celestite (Celestine) crystals are in radial sprays on vivid Sulphur crystals. In fine condition, the matrix is an open pocket that has protected the delicate crystals inside. Similar to old specimens from Sicily, the luster and sparkle of this specimen is equal to those.

Ex John Marshall Collection, a fine zoned blue Celestite that has no attachment point, it is crystallized all around. The individual crystals reach 3.5 CM and are sharp with sky blue cores. Vintage 1970's undamaged from a now classic locale. Clay center still sometimes produces a few good specimens but this quality is not typical, the color is a little more vivid in person.
