Anglesite - very large crystal, classic locale
stock #15.1-675
Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos
Chihuahua, Mexico
4.3 x 3.2 x 1.2 CM (miniature)
price: $675

For the Ahumada Mine (Los Lamentos) this is a huge crystal of Anglesite for that mine, and is partly altered to Cerussite on the surface. Ex Johansson collection, this is an older piece, pre 1940. In very good condition and well-terminated as seen, (crudely doubly terminated) the crystal has retained the textbook form of the Anglesite. Los Lamentos is world famed for fine Wulfenite, Vanadinite and Descloisite but other Lead secondaries have been found over the long history of the mine. Large crystals of Anglesite are usually up to 2 CM, but at 4.3 CM this is one of the largest I have ever seen. A choice and substantial Mexican classic.

Anglesite pseudo after Cerussite -Classic
stock #15.1-477
Broken Hill, Yancowinna County
New South Wales, Australia
4.3 x 3.1 x 2.5 CM (miniature)
price: $350
Worldwide mix summer

A rare and elegant pseudomorph, the twinned crystals of Cerussite have been fully replaced by Anglesite and the outer surface is covered on all sides by sharp small Anglesites. The specimen is in exceptional condition and is a floater, with no attachment point, crystallized all around. These Pseudomorphs were found long ago in the early upper mine workings. This choice example is remarkable for perfection and classic form, a rarity almost never available.

Cerussite with Anglesite and Linarite - US Classic locale
stock #18.1-241
Bunker Hill Mine, Jersey Level, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District, Shosone
Idaho, United States
3.1 x 2.7 x 1.8 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $125

From the famed Bunker Hill Mine, this is a choice small specimen of sharply crystallized Cerussite with a few small Anglesite prisms as well. Both twins and single crystals are noted. The matrix also includes some small bits of Linarite and what looks like Caledonite in spots on Cerussites. Choice cognac color and sharp form protected in a shallow vug. The condition in the vug is good, the only notable damage is outside the vug itself. Choice for the locale and an attractive Lead secondary from this famed Pyromorphite locality.

Anglesite -gemmy single crystal
stock #17.1-743
Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker Dist., Jerada Province
Oriental Region, Morocco
1.6 x .8 x .4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $320
Pre Holiday 2017

Perfect, transparent single Anglesite crystal with the top 2/3 rds bright yellow. From the great finds at Touissit that produced the very best Anglesites even found. Choice thumbnail, the color on this is fully natural. Some of these were treated to enhance color in the 1980s but the results left a telltale dull luster. This is a clean glassy, natural thumbnail with no issues!

Anglesite -Unusual form at this locale
stock #16.1-338
Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker Dist., Jerada Province
Oriental Region, Morocco
3.2 x 2.9 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $180
Pre Holiday 2017

Blocky transparent crystals of white Anglesite with inclusions of Galena seen clearly inside. From the mines at Touissit, this is not the well known form, habit or color most often seen. The form is similar to some specimens from Sardinia or Tsumeb. The condition is good with very minor edge chipping on a few areas not very evident.

Anglesite
stock #17.1-693
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
2.1 x 1.3 x .8CM (thumbnail)
price: $180
Pre Holiday 2017

A transparent Tsumeb Anglesite crystal with the look of a Moroccan specimen. Smokey cognac color and zoning a well as unknown inclusions add a nice look to this crystal. On close inspection the association of Chalcocite and Posnakite micros and the unusual face coatings confirm that this is from Tsumeb. Glassy and sharp, there is some light edge bruising but the crystal is complete and terminated. A less common form and habit this is an early vintage piece much better in person.

Anglesite with Linarite etc- EX Lechner, Shortmann
stock #13.1-069
Bruche Mine, Musen, Siegerland
North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
4.8 x 3.9 x 3.4 CM (miniature)
price: $350
new june 17

A classic specimen from the famed Lechner collection of Austria, later sold by the Schortmanns in 1950-52. A Gossan and decomposed Galena matrix full of vugs hosts sharp and in some cases gemmy Anglesites. Scattered small Linarite crystals are near, on and in the Anglesites. The largest Anglesite is 8MM, several crystal forms and possibly some twinning is noted. Choice old piece.

Anglesite - unusual color with Balydonite etc.
stock #16.1-561
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
8.5 x 4.1 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $2850
Winter 2016-17

A remarkable series of colorful, sharp and lustrous Anglesites reaching 3.1 cm in a stacked cluster. Matrix includes Balydonite and Mimetite among other unidentified species. The Anglesites show the bi-pyramidal form and have yellow, greenish and orange-brown inclusions along with typical milky white areas. Both unusual and very attractive, an outstanding lead secondary specimen from the amazing Tsumeb!
