We do not often offer Indian Zeolite minerals as there are so many in the market and few stand out. However these can be both exceptionally esthetic and reasonable in price. This vivid orange spray of perfect Stilbites is that sort of specimen. The matrix is a jumble of Apophyllite crystals with off white porcelain luster that make a fine contrast to the orange. In perfect condition and with classic form, this is more impressive in person. Well selected Indian minerals are some of the greatest bargains in the mineral world, they offer perfection, color, esthetics and elegant forms at a low cost. This is that sort of specimen.
Stilbite on Prehnite
7.3 x 3.5 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
Pre Holiday 2017
A slender fingerlike growth of green prehnite that is studded with pale yellow Stilbite crystals. In undamaged condition this displays well on all sides. This is from the discoveries in Mali that have produced a lot of good Epidote, but such very fine stilbite /Prehnite specimens are far more rare. This was selected from several hundred specimens as an especially esthetic piece.
Very fine, sharp bi-colored Stilbites from the Malmberget Mine that is world famed for a great find of gemmy Calcite. This is a rather old specimen with a few very small near colorless Fluorites and associated minerals. The Stilbites are quite sharply terminated reaching over 2 CM long and with bright luster. In excellent condition, no visible damage.
An old Schortmann's specimen circa 1948-50 from the Paterson New Jersey area. The radial ball of Stilbite is 3.2 cm across and nicely exposed. This sort of esthetic is not very common from this classic locale best known for Prehnites. In fine condition.
