SOLD Ludlamite with Pyrite and Siderite
stock #SOLD 22.1-345
Huanuni Mine, Huanuni, Pataleon Dalence Province
Oruro Department, Bolivia
3.8 x 3.5 x 1.9 CM (miniature)
price: $0
Fall 22

Exceptionally well-crystalized Ludlamite on a matrix of Siderite and Pyrite. The Ludlamite is in both prismatic crystals and in spherical rosette form balls. The largest ball is a textbook perfect crystal cluster perched at the top of the specimen. No damage and with bright luster, vivid color and excellent esthetics. From the recent find at Huanuni, (Bolivia), these have been big news in the mineral world as they have outstanding quality and form.

Ludlamite - classic USA locale
stock #AX-19-277
Blackbird Mine, Lemhi County
Idaho, United States
3.9 x 3 x .9 CM (miniature)
price: $110
new year 2021

A small miniature plate sprinkled with many sharp yellow-green Ludlamite crystals and tiny Pyrites as well. An older specimen from the Blackbird Mine (Idaho) with a label from Dawson's Minerals (California) dealership from the 1961-1979 era. In fine condition the tiny Ludlamites are gemmy and look great under magnification. An affordable example.

Ludlamite - fan crystals
stock #15.1-852
Santa Eulalia, Aquiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
4.7 x 4.1 x 3.1 CM (miniature)
price: $850
Late Summer 2018

A rare miniature sized and very fine Ludlamite from the classic locale of Santa Eulalia. Excellent color, condition and with the desirable fan aggregates of crystals standing above the matrix. Most of what is seen from Santa Eulalia are thumbnails (which can be superb) but those too are very uncommon, they were found before 1985. This is a very large (miniature) specimen with fine form, luster and presentation. Between Santa Eulalia and the later Bolivian Ludlamite finds, these are the worlds best for the specie. Many of the Ludlamites from both locales have a rather unstable Sulphide matrix. This one seems to be very solid, stable with no rotting pyrite or other issues.

Ludlamite - fine crystals with minor Chalcopyrite
stock #10.1-328
Blackbird Mine, Lemhi County
Idaho, United States
8.4 x 5.6 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $600
Worldwide mix summer

A choice, very well crystallized plate of green Ludlamite crystals from the classic Blackbird mine. Several old labels (included) date this back to 1960, which was the period when the best Ludlamites in the US were found. The Ludlamites are deep green, sharp, translucent and in clusters, balls and rosettes. A choice US classic of the quality that is almost never seen on the market today. No damage and the matrix has been stabilized to prevent crumbling of the soft Sulfide base.
