Vayrynenite in pink platey masses mixed with glassy massive Topaz and a silky white Muscovite (Gilertite), with a few unknowns as well. From a very complex, exotic pegmatite in Erajarvi, Finland which is the type locale for the rare Berylium Phosphate mineral Vayrynenite. This is a fairly rich specimen though it is not showy at all. An affordable rarity from the type locale, from the R and A Palmer rarities collection.

The rare gem mineral Vayrynenite has been found in a very few places worldwide, but by far the best have come from Pakistan, in small pockets sporadically over the past thirty years. This is from a pocket found in 2017 which was the last good find. Good orange red color, transparent to translucent showing very rough, crude terminations that at first glance look broken. These seem to have been etched and recrystallized at some point in the past. Well defined striations on the prism faces, this has well above average color, luster and transparency in a simple thumbnail.
