SOLD Lepidolite - unusual crystal form, on Cleavelandite
stock #SOLD 23.1-586
Cruzeiro Mine, Sao Jose de Safira
Minas Gerais, Brazil
9.5 x 5.4 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $0

A perfect radiating disk form of Lepidolite with many small terminations on the outer edge. The color grades from silver in the center to purple at the outer sides. The disk is nestled in a mass of small Quartz crystals and blades of Cleavelandite. An unusual and attractive habit for this Lithium rich Mica, this can certainly be trimmed if desired but this matrix is so nicely crystallized it seems a shame to do so.

Lepidolite- very fine crystals with Elbaite
stock #22.1-549
Paprok, Kamdesh District
Nuristan, Afghanistan
5.3 x 4.4 x 4 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $590

Perfect hexagonal crystals of violet Lepidolite in a cluster with small gem clear Tourmalines. The Tourmaline (Elbaite) is a pale pink to almost colorless and are in perfect condition as well. Even though Lepidolite is not uncommon, good crystals are surprisingly rare. These are sharp, thick and most have the flat termination faces hosting a circular zone of white microcrystalline Feldspar. Both unusual and esthetic, a choice and attractive specimen of Lepidolite crystals.

SOLD Lepidolite with Muscovite core
stock #SOLD 16.1-751
Aracuai, Jequitinhonha Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
9 x 5.7 x .4 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
new year 2021

An oddity, this is an attractive well-formed Mica crystal with fine zoning and a sharp transparent window in the core. The outer zone of Lepidolite is a rose purple and shows thin color bands when backlit. This piece is from a small lot that arrived in 2017 and I have not seen anything like this since.

Lepidolite on Clevlandite
stock #16.1-569
Virgem do Lapa
Minas Gerais, Brazil
5 x 4.1 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $130

An unusual yet attractive Lepidolite, with color and form that is not at all typical. From the great Pegmatite deposits of Virgem da Lapa, ex. Leoben collection. The Lepidolites are in thin stacks of diverging crystals in clusters having a Orange to Pink color. The matrix is white to colorless Clevelandite in crystals and massive plates. Lepidolite is one of the most attractive Mica minerals often taking many diverse forms and vibrant colors. A choice miniature.
