Creedite - Purple crystals, classic USA
stock #17.1-266
Tonopah Copper Mine, San Antonio Mountains, Nye County
Nevada, United States
6.5 x 4. x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Late Summer 2018

Bright purple transparent crystals of Creedite cover a face of a blocky Quartz matrix. From Nye County in Nevada which had been the best source of purple Creedites in the USA, these are now very rare on the market. Aside from this region and a few scattered localities in Colorado there are virtually no fine Creedites from the USA known, and purple is the least common color worldwide. These are very lustrous, clear, a nice violet and with good definition.

Creedite (purple crystals)
stock #12.1-236
San Antonio Mine
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.3 x 4.7 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $320
new year 2021

A well-crystallized older purple Creedite from the 1970 vintage find at Santa Eulalia in the San Antonio Mine. The individual Creedite crystals are glassy lustrous, transparent, in perfect condition and unusually well isolated. The matrix is a dark gossan that adds a nice contrast to the bright Creedites. Ex Glenn Nicol collection. The dark matrix is unusual from this locale, I have only ever seen one other example. Mexican Purple Creedites are far more rare than the orange crystals from Navidad, and good pieces are very hard to come by in recent years.

stock #19.1-755
Mina Navidad, Abasolo, Rodeo
Durango, Mexico
3.5 x 3.2 x 2.9 CM (miniature)
price: $120

A complete radiating cluster od sharp transparent Creedite crystals from the famed Mina Navidad. Perfect condition all the crystals are complete and intact. The color overall is a reddish orange to yellow hue, there are some inclusions as well. One of the mineral worlds best values, fine Mexican Creedites can be affordable and very choice. An excellent example.
