A well-crystallized plate of Fairfieldite crystals with fine, well-formed platy habit. In very good condition overall, these are quite large crystals for the specie and the locality. Below these are barrel shaped Apatite crystals with a brown to pink hue. The Apatite is fluorescent. This piece was in the Ruth and Andy Palmer collection and later in William Hladysz collection. The Foote Mine had at one time produced many different rare Phosphates and some of the best Fairfieldites of the USA, these in many habits. The mine was also well-known for diverse and excellent Apatites. The Fairfieldites are unusually large and choice for the Foote Mine..
