SOLD Jalpaite - Bisbee rarity, with Bornite
stock #SOLD 21.1-525
Campbell Shaft, 1600 foot level, Bisbee, Cochise County
Arizona, United States
2.6 x 1.4 x 1.1 CM (thumbnail)
price: $0
Fall 22

Jalpaite is a fairly rare Silver Copper Sulfide, and is very rare from the classic locality of Bisbee Arizona. The specie is known from several worldwide localities but other than a few prized thumbnail crystals from the type locale (Jalpa, Mexico), it is always either micro-sized or massive. This is a good locality specimen with the Jalpaite mixed with Bornite. Best viewed with magnification this piece comes from the one find in the Cambell shaft at the 1600 foot level documented by the late Dick Graeme.
