Cobaltoan Calcite
stock #17.1-752
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
7.4 x 7.3 x 4.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $290
Early summer 2021

Vivid magenta-pink crystals of Cobaltoan Calcite clustered in an esthetic mass. The crystals are just over one CM in length (one is 1.6 CM)and are sharp, transparent and have a slightly textured or silky luster. In excellent condition overall, this is from a major find about 6 years ago. Cobaltoan Calcites are really only found in fine specimens at just two localities worldwide and currently neither place has produced specimens for some time. In Morocco there have been only three important larger finds in more than 40 years, and the most recent productive zone is currently flooded. Very good value for color and form.

Erythrite
stock #10.1-465
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
8.2 x 4.4 x 3.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $975
Post Tucson 2015

Top color and glassy luster in an esthetic fine specimen. From the worlds greatest find of Erythrites, some years ago at Shaft 1, Bou Azzer, this shows the quality that made these famous. The individual crystals are translucent to transparent, sharp contrast well with the matrix. Overall in perfect condition although with 10X magnification some tiny crystals show minor damage not seen by naked eye. For such a delicate mineral this is virtually perfect and very showy.

Wendwilsonite
stock #AX-30-072
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
5.1 x 4.3 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $390
pre Tucson 2015 update

One of the most desirable species from Bou Azzer's amazing deposits of rare Cobalt minerals is Wendwilsonite. This well protected vug in a cobalt pink matrix holds a number of small crystals of several species the most significant being these deep red gemmy Wendwilsonite. In fine condition, the crystals reach 6+ mm which is quite large for the specie.

Acanthite (chain growth of stacked octahedra)
stock #7.AE-171
Imiter Mine, Imiter Mining Dist., Tinghir Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
7.4 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $400
Spring 2013

Some of the weirdest habit Silver minerals and especially Acanthites have come out of Morocco from time to time. This is a very nice example with a sizable chain of oriented stacked octahedrons that displays very well. Somewhat crude as are all of these but undamaged and a complete floater. This came out over two decades ago. The new restrictions have cut off most everything from these great silver mines.

Roselite (well-crystallized)
stock #12.1-251
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
6.8 x 4.6 x 5 Cm (cabinet)
price: $875
Spring 2013

An especially "electric" colorful specimen with large well defined crystals and outstanding luster. The matrix is a block of pinkish dolomite/ calcite with some of the altered serpentine country rock adhering. The Roselites are in a shallow depression and contrast well with the host matrix. Very striking specimen with great impact. Bou Azzer Roselites are by far the best ever found and this is a quite fine example.

Erythrite
stock #AX-4-294
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
6.2 x 4.1 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $675

The Erythrites of Bou Azzer are the worlds finest. They come out sporadically and the best examples are very much in demand. This is a very fine example, in perfect condition, with showy esthetics, sharp bright crystals and great color. Displays from several angles, a very good value on a contemporary classic!

Proustite
stock #7.AE-210
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
6.5 x 5.8 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $860

A very rich, aesthetically presented and fine specimen of the rarest of the Ruby Silver minerals, Proustite. A large 4.6 CM crystalized mass of nearly pure Proustite in association with minor Acanthite crystals rises from the matrix. There is no visible damage even under 10x magnification. The individual Proustites are brilliant ruby color, lustrous and well-formed up to 3 mm in size and arranged on clusters. A great piece that shows the specie well from a great Silver locality. While this is not going to compete with the best old German and Chilean examples, it is affordable and pretty. This is one of the best I have seen from Morocco, likely from the Imiter Mine but I can not confirm the locality beyond the Bou Azzer region.
