Fluorite - 2 intergrown spinel twins
stock #23.1-222
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
4.6 x 3.3 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $1950
Pre Tucson

A most unusual intersection of two complete spinel habit twins of Fluorite. In outstanding condition, the crystals are all translucent and mostly transparent. Aside from a few tiny bits of Muscovite there is nothing other than Fluorite here, no matrix. The color is zoned with a light purple predominating but the outer edges are a deep purple and the core has some yellow to orange lines. This area of the Erongos has been the source of several great Fluorite finds. Each find has been somewhat unique and many habits were never seen again as in the famed Alien Eyes of 2007. This is from an incredible 2021-2 find of very distinctive spinel twins. Great in person and in a display with backlighting this is amazing.

SOLD Fluorite - spinel twins
stock #SOLD 23.1-224
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
2.8 x 1.4 x 1.2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $0
Pre Tucson

Killer thumbnail of multi color Fluorite in a flat and elongated spinel twin form. From the 2021 pocket on Hohenstein (Erongo, Namibia) which had a very special and unique look to many crystals, this is a perfect, complete and choice small wonder. The internal color play is very impressive in person, purple, green lighter violet and yellow to orange colors are zoned. The yellow-orange is a concentrated in a faden-like line that runs the length of the crystal. It is almost impossible to describe the crystal complexity, some faces are glass clear, these alternate with some frosted or etched faces. Looks fine from almost any angle and with backlight glows very well. We were able to select our specimens very early from the pocket contents and all were chosen with care for best quality, esthetics and interest. A few tiny crystals are scattered on one edge and are also spinel twins. This find is among the most important of the past few decades of Erongo Fluorite, the habit and quality are unlike anything else.

Flourite - elongated Sspinel twin, multi color
stock #23.1-223
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
3.3 x 1.6 x .8 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $600
Pre Tucson

A textbook perfect spinel-twin crystal of Fluorite with amazing internal colors. From the find three years ago in the Erongos, this is a killer thumbnail to toenail specimen that looks fine on all sides. In excellent undamaged condition there is a small Schorl crystal jutting off the side as well. As was typical of this unusual find, some faces are quite smooth and transparent while others are frosted and more translucent. The internals in this are much like strings of color, yellow, orange, purple and a hint of red. Fluorite is by far the most collected mineral specie in the world, this piece shows why, it is colorful, strange and pretty.

Amethyst - modern classic locale
stock #23.1-363
Goboboseb Mts., Brandberg area,
Erongo Region, Namibia
7.3 x 5.6 x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $370
Spring 23

A pair of perfect Amethyst crystals on matrix from Goboboseb (Namibia). The crystals are fully transparent with a deep purple core zone and more light-smokey toward the terminations. The matrix has been sawn on the bottom and sides to extract this without damage, there are no repairs. Both tips are perfect, undamaged even viewed at strong magnification. The range and quality of Goboboseb Amethyst is broad and amazing. We are fortunate that this remote location has been one of the world's best sources of fine Quartz and Amethyst at reasonable cost. A good value for a nice specimen in this size and price range.

Fluorite - new find spinel twin, multicolor
stock #23.1-273
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
3.3 x 2.7 x 2.6 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $590
Spring 23

From an exciting new find in the Erongo (Namibia) this hosts a perfect elongated Spinel twin crystal. Transparent and very colorful, with backlighting this glows vivid hues of purple, green and shows a zone of yellow-orange. We have not made the photos with strong backlight so this looks as it would in normal display lighting. I have seen a few of these posted on the web with strong backlight which looks incredible but this is unrealistic and I think misleading. No matter the light, this is a textbook perfect twin on a Fluorite matrix. It is sharp, complete and undamaged. Far better in person too.

Fluorite - elongated cubes in chain
stock #22.FC-075
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region, Namibia
5.1 x 1.2 x 1.2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $340
Fall 22

A well-formed elongated stack of cubic green Fluorite crystals with purple zones. From the Erongo mountains we normally see some elongated spinel twins or octahedral crystals in chains but this stack of cubes is very unusual. The chain has a slight taper towards the base and also has a very slight twist on close exam. A unique, complete undamaged specimen that looks fine on all sides, a minor contact on the base and perfect termination on top.

Fluorite - stacked, epitaxial octahedrons
stock #21.1-510
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region, Namibia
6.5 x 2.7 x 1.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $550
Post Tucson 2022

An attractive and very unusual Fluorite for those who enjoy oddities. A snakelike cluster of Fluorite crystals which on close exam are all octahedral and aligned in a stack with a little curve and even some blending of faces so the whole looks like a stretched prism on some edges. From the prolific Erongo Mountains (Namibia) where some wonderful and rare forms have turned up over the years. This is also impressive when backlit the green crystals are seen to have a lighter inner zone with a distinct deep yellow to orange line running the length of the stack, much like a faden line. This does not show in the photos as they are not strongly backlit. All the crystals show a bit of etching and textured faces as well. The top of the piece shows a distinct termination or octahedral edge while the base is more etched and less distinct. No bruises or damage to note, a very odd and oddly attractive Fluorite. Far more impressive in person too.

Fluorite on Schorl
stock #17.1-525
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
5.8 x 3.3 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $290
Early summer 2021

Complex rounded ball-like crystals of Fluorite perched on Schorl crystals from Erongo. The Fluorites are lightly frosted, partly glassy and transparent. Most are included with tiny needles of Schorl and are in excellent condition. This region of the Hohenstien Massif has often yielded single pockets with unique character and mineral combinations. This is from one such pocket found in 2017 by a group of "small miners" from the area. Looks fine from most any angle.
