Copper coated by Chrysocolla
stock #24.1-069
Bou Nahas Mine, Oumjtane, Anif Cercle, Tingir Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
9.4 x 6.7 x 1 CM (cabinet)
price: $150

Native Copper crystals in a flat, lace-like branching form that are covered with green Chrysocolla. In fine condition as seen, from a locality that has begun to produce some very attractive Copper secondary minerals and an occasional nice Copper like this. The Chrysocolla is a fairly thick outer coating but it is still possible to see the shapes of the underlying copper crystals, including some spinel twin forms. Choice.

Azurite - new find
stock #23.1-111
Bou Nahas Mine, Oumjtane, Anif Cercle, Tingir Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5.8 x 4.8 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1950
Early summer 2023

A very fine, sharp and lustrous Azurite specimen from a new small find at the Copper mine of Bou Nahas. This find was made in the fall of 2022, and had some very good Azurites and native Copper. This is one of the best Azurites, it is in excellent condition, the largest crystal is perched at the top and is over 2 CM across. This locality has been known for a while for several interesting minerals but these very fine Azurites are something completely new. So far no similar pockets have turned up but we are hopeful. Meanwhile this is a choice piece from anyplace and exceptional for the locality. Even more impressive in person.

SOLD Vanadinite crystals on Nerinea (Snail) fossil
stock #SOLD 23.FC-024
Mibladen Mine, Upper Moulouya lead district, Midelt, Khenifra Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
6.7 x 2.3 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
Spring 23

An incredible Vanadinite. This remarkable specimen is one of the very best from a single small find in 2022. The matrix is a complete elongated snail fossil with clusters of bright red, sizable Vanadinite crystals perched mostly on the tip area. The amazing mines at Mibladen are certainly the world’s best localities for this specie, and the huge quantity of production is amazing. However among tens of thousands of pieces extracted over the past decades, no fossils hosting good Vanadinites like this have ever been seen. We are only aware of a few pieces found two years ago with tiny druses on some marine fossils but those were micro-sized crystals. The Snail hosting these bright red crystals is complete and undamaged. Even in a collection with many Vanadinites this would be really different and a fine fusion of Mineralogy and Paleontology.

Gold - spinel twinned crystals
stock #21.FC-029
Aouint, Ighoumane, Assa-Zag Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
4.6 x .7 x .3 CM (miniature)
price: $4400
Spring 23

Striking, very sharp and distinct chain of spinel twinned Gold crystals. From the recent amazing find in Morocco, this is a textbook perfect example and far better than average. The chain structure is flattened and has a very bright luster, it displays well from either the front or back side. An exceptional crystalized Gold and a very choice example of what will become a modern classic discovery.

Proustite - large Ruby Silver crystals
stock #23.FC-049
Imiter Mine, Imiter Mining Dist., Tinghir Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
3.8 x 2.2 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $2750
Spring 23

Superb bright red Ruby Silver (Proustite) crystals in an esthetic grouping. An exceptionally fine specimen from the recent finds at Imiter Mine, (Morocco) this is pure Proustite with no matrix at all. The color and luster are first rate, in excellent condition and displayable from practically any angle, this has a strong esthetic impact. Fine Proustite crystals have been prized by collectors for centuries. The are rare and the old classic localities in Europe and Charancillo are all long gone. This discovery of Proustite in Morocco made huge news in the mineral world. This piece is exceptional for the find, sharp crystals to 2 CM in size, textbook form, bright luster and color. This looks very much like a classic German specimen but at one-tenth the price.

Fluorite on Quartz
stock #22.1-548
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
4.8 x 3.1 x 3 CM (miniature)
price: $160
Spring 23

Bright yellow Fluorites on contrasting reddish druzy Quartz. The main Fluorite is elongated and gem clear; a very glassy contrast to the matrix. Close exam shows many odd inclusions in the crystals, but overall this a simply a cute, colorful and affordable Fluorite.

Erythrite
stock #22.1-547
Aghbar Mine, Aghbar, Agdz Cercle, Zagora Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5 x 3 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
price: $950
Fall 22

Vivid and sharp leafy crystals of red-purple Erythrite in very fine condition. This has a bright silky luster and the crystals are translucent to transparent when backlit. The largest crystals in the cluster are 2 CM across and there is no eye-visible damage on the main crystals. There are several very strong display angles. This type of Moroccan Erythrites are certainly the best in the world, in fact there are very few localities for good Erythrite crystals worldwide. Only the old German specimens come close to these in quality but they are rarely this well-defined and are always very expensive. The production is sporadic and sometimes years will pass with no new finds. This is from an early 2022 find and is far more esthetic than most.
