Elbaite -Vintage Black cap or Moorshead form, Type locale
stock #16.1-230
Elba Island, Livorno Province
Tuscany, Italy
1.3 x .6 x .5 CM (thumbnail)
price: $440
new june 17

A very old, classic specimen mounted on a 19th century wooden pedestal. Old labels are included one of which shows a date of 1810 or 1870 (very hard to read). Either way this is a classic, antique piece with very good condition, form and clarity in the body. Type locality and a great addition to any display of vintage or modern tourmaline.

Fluorite with epitaxial overgrwths on Quartz
stock #AX-14-294
Riemvasmaak, Kakamas district
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
5.4 x 3.8 x 2.6 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $770
new june 17

Intense translucent green Octahedron perfectly set on sharp Quartz crystals. Ata quick glance a fine and attractive piece but the really significant feature is seen on a closer look. All the corners of the Octa have colorless epitaxial caps of Fluorite that is also well crystallized. A textbook perfect and esthetic specimen with incredible form. In undamaged condition and with top color, this was from a small find at Riemvasmaak 3 years ago.

Fluorite - gem clear crystal on Calcite
stock #17.1-219
Cantera Llamas, Duyos, Caravia
Asturias, Spain
4.5 x 2.2 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $380
new june 17

From the 2016 find at the Llamas quarry this is a super clear and glassy Fluorite with sharp edge beveling on all sides. Nicely perched on the Calcite matrix with a few extra tiny Fluorites for extra sparkle. Impressive perfection even under 20x magnification there are no nicks or imperfections. In some photos what appears as an internal cloud or veil is only external microscopic cubic indents on one face. The interior is certainly colorless and absolutely clear. This small location only produces a few nice pieces in any year and rarely this level of perfection.

Pyromorphite -classic stacked crystal
stock #16.1-446-(CN5401)
Bad Ems
Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
5 x 2.6 x 1.7 CM (miniature)
price: $660
new june 17

A perfect composite crystal with alignment of the individual prisms and spraying out from the origin point. This is a perfect condition specimen with fine wet luster and attractive form on all sides. A vintage Bad Ems specimen that comes with old labels and a glass topped box likely late 19th or early 20th century vintage. It is quite rare to find a crystal this large without chips or issues. A choice classic locale German Pyromorphite.

Duftite on Calcite
stock #AX-14-309
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
9.8 x 7 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $1400
new june 17

A striking cabinet sized plate of sharp Calcite crystals almost totally encrusted with bright sparkling Duftite micro crystals. In exceptional undamaged condition, Duftite is rare in good display quality specimens but this is a very fine and colorful piece. The individual crystals are more distinct and larger than the more typical Tsumeb smudges. Classic form for the underlying Calcite there is some selective coating noted but overall very little of the white calcite is exposed. Choice.
