A sizable matrix specimen of very rich Calaverite and some very small areas of Gold on a matrix of Chalcedony and Calcite. This type of matrix is usually considered to be from the third and final Mineralizing event at this locality, the earlier events often had considerable Fluorite instead. This piece shows several areas of distinct crystals many of which are complexly twinned. Some of these are fairly complete but others are contacted or broken which is very typical of this fragile Gold Telluride. This area was one of the greatest Gold discoveries in the USA but was very unusual due to the many zones of rare Telluride minerals and Gold Tellurites in particular. This is an excellent large and rich example.
