One of the most respected European classics are the Pyromorphites that were pseudomorphed by Galena from Kautenbach. This specimen has very sharp and distinct hexagonal crystals that in some cases are fully pseudomorphed to Galena and a few have a later regrowth of an outer layer of Pyromorphite. The crystals are well exposed and stand up above the matrix. Very clean damage wise, the crystals on this specimen are small but much more distinct than usual from this classic locale. Ex Seaman museum, most specimens of this sort we have handled had larger crystals but also far larger price tags, usually in the 4-8K range. This is a good example of this treasured classic that is affordable but still choice.

Worldwide mix summer
A perfect, undamaged small Pyromorphite with a pleasing form from the classic Bad Ems area. A thin plate of matrix crystalized all around with mustard green pyros some of which have a yellow tip. This region is world renowned for the many fine Pyromorphites that it once produced, especially the large brown hoppered crystals. This old piece is of a less common style and color. Remarkable to be 360 degree displayable and completely damage free. One face of the specimen has less green and more typical brown but even that side displays well too. The Rosenburg Mine closed in 1963, and it was most active in the late 19th and early 20th century. Specimens of this quality are usually quite old and have passed through many hands, making it rare to be so pristine.
The Eisieben Mines date back to the end of the 19th century (or more), worked for Copper and Nickel, but from time to time some excellent Selenite was found. This is a choice piece, in pristine condition, with sharp delicate prisms on matrix. In person the transparency is far more impressive.

Spring update
An old Kransberg German Pyromorphite from the Collection of John Marshall. Johns Pyromorphite suite was an ambitions attempt to gather the best examples possible from every confirmed Pyromorphite location in the world. He obtained many obscure and exotic examples in 60 plus years of effort. This was obtained by him in 1989. The 6.3 x 4.5 CM display surface is covered with mix of Pyro and Quartz with crystals to 5mm., most in good condition. Although no mine was attributed on older labels it looks a good match for the Jennette mine in Kransberg.

Spring update
A cabinet sized Pyromorphite densely covered with dark green crystals in good condition. An older specimen Ex. John Marshall collection of Pyromorphites, obtained by him in 1994 in Munich. The locality given of Runderoth seems to be a specific point in or near the old Grunblieberg (Green lead Mountain) mining area. Nearly all of the matrix shows at least a few Pyros, but the main display face has a 5 CM diameter dense patch of well formed crystals. John was a fanatic collector of Pyros and was on a mission to obtain the best he could find from every locality in the world. He was not able to upgrade from this one during the next 20 years of collecting.

Spring update
An older Bavarian Pyromorphite with very dense coverage collected before 1962. Glassy luster and good sparkle. This locality is now part of a military base and collecting is not possible. Crystals to 4mm cover the face of the sandstone matrix. Good color and transparent crystals in fine condition.

Spring update
A very well formed, sharp, transparent yellow Fluorite with purple and blue zoning. From a classic Erzgebirge area mine but from a recently collected picket. Better in person this backlights very well too, (strongly backlit photos are quite misleading, these photos are more typical of normal display conditions). Well composed and esthetic this is an excellent German Fluorite.
A fine old classic Freiburg Fluorite specimen ex. Yale and JH Marshall collections. The Fluorites are zoned with clear to deep purple colors and have rotated phantoms. Sharp corners and edges these are good condition despite some small bruising. Some old damage is on the Quartz some of which has rehealed, but this is overall quite fine and can be displayed (or trimmed) so damage is not noticable. Not typical of the majority of specimens we have seen, there are a few areas of crystallized Sulfides as well.
