Fluorite with Sphalerite and Dolomite
stock #22.1-265
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
5.8 x 4.5 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $390

Dark vivid purple cubes on a matrix of Sphalerite and sparkling white Dolomite. A nice Elmwood specimen that is of the sort that has made this the great and highly respected locality that it is. In fine condition overall the cubes show the small but well-developed geometric etching that is classic for this mine. The locality has produced many good specimens but better pieces like this are especially choice. Nicer in person.

Fluorite with Sphalerite, unusual edges
stock #22.1-260
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
4.7 x 3.8 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
price: $300

A cluster of Fluorite cubes with geometrically etched, stepped faces and unusual double beveled edges. From the great Elmwood Mine the main cube is 2.8 CM across and in fine condition. Sphalerite, Quartz and Fluorite are the matrix on this piece. The edge bevel is double forming a V point which is a rather rare modification best seen from Elmwood. Good deep color but still translucent, the luster is glossy and distinct.

Fluorite and Sphalerite
stock #22.1-253
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
2.6 x 2.2 x 2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $260
Fall 22

Blue-purple Fluorite in translucent cubes in a fine thumbnail cluster. The crystals are well perched on the contrasting Sphalerite and this glows very well when backlit. These photos were not backlit, with light above and on the sides only, so it shows how it will look in a basic display. The condition is very good, it takes a 10X loupe to find only very tiny edge/corner roughness. The stepped edges and faces give a rough texture that reflects light well. A good clean Elmwood thumbnail that is better in person.

Fluorite
stock #22.1-249
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
4.2 x 2.4 2.2 CM (miniature)
price: $180
Fall 22

A cluster of sharp blue-purple cubes on a shard of Dolomite matrix. The front of the matrix is coated with a sparkling druse of white to colorless Calcites which adds a nice contrast to the Fluorite. A cute miniature in very good condition, there is some very tiny cleaves not easy to see that are present, but from the logical display angle these are not seen at all. A relatively affordable esthetic piece in this size.

Fluorite (colorless) and Dolomite
stock #22.1-251
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
4.6 x 3 x 2.2 CM (miniature)
price: $320
Fall 22

A choice and uncommon true colorless Fluorite from the Elmwood Mine. In excellent condition, the main 2.8 CM cube is sharp, clear and colorless. The matrix can be seen through the Fluorite which is very unusual from Elmwood which is world famed for its dark purple to blue colors. Most of the colorless fluorites from here that we have seen are quite frosted and or have a noticeable tint of purple. This sharp clear form is really unusual.

Fluorite
stock #22.1-252
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
2.5 x 2.3 x 1.4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $190
Fall 22

Sharp and vivid Elmwood Fluorite thumbnail in fine condition. The main cube shows the classic edge and corner growths of deeper color stepped crystal enrichment. The matrix is mostly massive Dolomite that forms the back of the specimen so the crystals are prominent from the display side. This quality is now much harder to find.

Fluorite on Strontium rich Barite/ Celestite
stock #22.1-325
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County
Tennessee, United States
8.2 x 7.2 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $390
Fall 22

A very attractive and quite unusual habit from the Elmwood Mines. Small, bright gemmy Fluorites coat the matrix in a three dimensional rosette-like form. In excellent condition with super luster, this is very different from the typical Elmwood Fluorite and, in fact, is unusual in this form from anyplace. The matrix is said to be more Strontium rich Barite than Barium rich Celestite but both species can be found. From a famed world-class locality this is unusual and very eye-catching in person.
