Dioptase on Shattuckite
stock #AX-14-218
Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
3.8 x 2.7 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $325

Bright blue shell of Shattuckite hosts dozens of emerald-green Dioptase crystals. In perfect condition, the color and form are excellent and better in person. A choice miniature the back side is a hollow cast with the shape of Quartz crystals, thought the front is the pretty part. Quite a lot of the Kaokoveld Dioptase is a little dull but this has the desirable glass-like luster.

Dioptase - very large crystal
stock #AX-14-237
Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
3.1 x 1.3 x 1.2 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $530

A fine large single prism composed of two main parallel crystals that are joining in a single shared termination. Super lustrous with brilliant color, in fine overall condition. The base has a few tiny adhering crystals that are not complete and it is possible to see the break where this was removed from the host mass of Dioptase where this grew. Aside from the matrix the main large crystal is in perfect undamaged condition. From finds a few years ago in the Kaokoveld, large prisms like this were just not known from other locations. A choice example of this find

Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
3.4 x 2.4 x 1.5 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $620

A super clean, brilliant toenail sized Dioptase from finds at Kaokoveld in 2012. Very sharp and lustrous crystals in excellent condition and having an esthetic arrangement. While Dioptase is known from quite a few localities in the world but this sort of very fine specimen is from either Tsumeb (closed forever) or Kaokoveld, bot being in Namibia. Top emerald green color with transparent areas set this apart, better in person.

Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
6.1 x 5.7 x 5.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Late Summer 2018

Fantastic Copper species piece with Emerald green Dioptase crystals on royal blue Shattuckite. The Dioptase are highly lustrous, sharp and up to 1 CM. The underlying Quartz matrix is very solid and there are few hints of Malachite at the edges. These were found a few years ago in a one time find in the Kaokoveld, and sold very quickly. Happy to be able to offer this one again. The color contrast on this is especially fine.

Shattuckite
stock #AX-14-244
Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
6.8 x 5.1 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $350
Late Summer 2018

An esthetic and pure mass of the Copper Silicate Hydroxide - Shattuckite. Very good color in a three dimensional specimen. This has a sculptural form holding an open vug much like a vase. The inner surfaces are all a delicate botryoidal blue velvet and the edges show the fibrous structure as well. From the limited finds made in 2013-5 in the Kaokoveld, These were a significant discovery at that time, and remain as some of the best specimens ever for the specie.

Shattuckite with Malachite
stock #AX-4-285
Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
11.2 x 6.4 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $3250
pre Tucson 2015 update

An intense color, well-crystallized large Shattuckite with fine Malachite sprays and sparkling luster. One of the nicest of this style, this displays well from any angle, and the color is very much "electric". This find produced the best Shattuckites ever seen and this is an especially choice example. Much more three dimensional than most and with great display impact, in fine condition. On close exam many small doubly terminated Quartz crystals are seen that are a brilliant blue color from included Shattuckite and add a lot of flash. Compared to other fine pieces this is a great value.
