stock #AX-11-254
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
6.5 x 3.9 x 3.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $160
Spring 2017

A really colorful dark green Rosasite with Malachite on a matrix of clear rhombs of Calcite. The specimen is covered with small spheres and botrytoids of velvety Rosasite intermixed with Malachite. The condition is choice and the contrast with the white Calcite crystals sets everything off well. A little different esthetics than the usual Rosasite.

Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5.7 x 3 x 1.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Spring 2017

Bright green color botryoidal Adamite from the great Ojuela Mine. In fine condition and with vivid SW fluorescence, Adamites in this form are classics. An attractive older specimen of better quality than newer finds.

Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5.9 x 3.1 x 2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)

Well-exposed vug filled with perfect yellow acicular form Legrandites. Unlike many pieces these are free standing crystals not laying in the matrix. A choice piece with strong esthetics and color. A really esthetic zoned Adamite spray that goes from transparent yellow-green to intense red-purple at the terminations. In fine condition and with great color and luster, this is a nice addition to any Mexican suite. The spray is sizable at 2.4 CM and is well protected in a ledgelike vug. Choice.

Durango, Mexico
6.3 x 4.4 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1700

An exceptional, undamaged, wet look Mimetite with great color and form. From the 2012 find at Mina Ojuela, showing the elongated botryoidal look unique to this discovery. These specimens are now considered equal to or better than the old find at San Pedro Corralitos, which are very sought after and prized. Destined to become classics, the find is exhausted. Fantastic esthetics, better in person!

Adamite

Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
4 x 3.6 x 2.7 CM (miniature)

A fine, sweet pinwheel style Adamite with brilliant color and luster. Minimal matrix this is mostly just a pure, bright Adamite specimen. In fine condition there is no damage aside from the outer edge contacts seen in the photos. The tiny crystals that compose the wheels are perfectly terminated and pristine. A very pretty example that is hard to find now.

Durango, Mexico
4.8 x 4.2 x 2.5 CM (miniature)

From another small but exciting new find at the great Mina Ojuela, a well crystallized bright Mimetite. The orange-red color is vibrant and the tiny crystals sparkle throughout. No damage can be seen by naked eye, but a little is seen at 20 X magnification. The individual crystals are all transparent and gemmy. A nice addition to any Ojuela suite.

Cerussite- new find, Ojuela
stock #AX-29-108
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
7.3 x 4.8 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $300
Post Tucson 2015

A delicate and complex Cerussite fro m the recent find at Mina Ojuela. These are glassy crystals associated with Pyrite that have inclusions that make part of the crystals opaque. There is some green to blue-green inclusions and coatings as well so the overall look is dark. There are many crystal habits on this piece, some twinned, sixlings and untwinned prisms. Some damage exists but much less than on nearly all pieces in the find. The longest crystal is 3.1 CM, before this find Cerussite was very rare at Ojuela.
