Cyanotrichite
stock #20.1-839
Grandview Mine, Grand Canyon, Coconino County
Arizona, United States
8.8 x 7.3 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $150
Fall 22

A large matrix hosts several vugs and seams of rich blue Cyanotrichite crystals. The Cyanos are mixed with sparkling Quartz crystals, so the specimen has a bright luster as well. Best appreciated with magnification, the specimen is a nice example of the specie.

Fluorite
stock #AX-10-584
Monarch Mine, Black Rock District, Yavapai County
Arizona, United States
5.9 x 4.1 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $150
Fall 22

Fluorite octahedrons in a cluster from a seldom seen Arizona locality. The largest crystal is 2.4 CM diagonal and all the crystals show a whitish frosting on mint-green faces. There is at least one old repair on the specimen which keeps the cost down, but overall it still looks nice. The mine closed in 1944, and this is an unusually large and sharp example for the locality from what I have seen. The frosted crystals still show good green color, many examples from this mine were fully overgrown with white Quartz and few had much color. The Fluorite is long wave fluorescent.

Wulfenite with Mimetite - classic USA
stock #14.1-329
Mammoth -St Anthony Mine, Tiger, Mammoth District, Pinal County
Arizona, United States
3.4 x 2.8 x 3.2 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $120
Fall 22

Free standing Wulfenite crystals with complex forms on a yellow-orange mass of tiny Mimetite clusters and balls. From the legendary Tiger area, these long closed mines are one of the most revered mineral localities in the USA. An older specimen from the L. Sweetman collection with handwritten label. Some damage and edge roughness exists so not for perfectionists but the main crystal is in fairly good condition and is a nice example of this habit. At one time Wulfenite was mined as a molybdenum ore here, the only place in the world where this was done. Tons were crushed and very little survived.

Vesuvianite - classic multi-color crystals
stock #14.1-046
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
4.1 x 2.3 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $1750
Fall 22

Vesuvianite crystals with green outer areas and rose to violet middles. Very lustrous, glassy and well-formed, the crystals are in parallel position and show a cascade of termination faces. In outstanding condition, no visible damage, the crystals are translucent and will glow with backlighting. This looks fine on all sides. From a find over 20 years ago at the famed Jeffrey Mine which had been the source of the world's best Vesuvianite. The mine has been closed for many years and nothing will ever again be produced again. Even though Vesuvianite is not a very rare mineral, these vivid colors and forms do not exist anyplace else on earth. Fine specimens from these unique finds at Jeffrey have become very hard to find, especially in this quality and condition.

Fluorite with Calcite
stock #22.1-514
Jaimina Mine, Carrales, Obdulia vein, Caravia Mining District
Asturias, Spain
5.4 x 4.9 x 3.1 (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $390
Fall 22

A pair of perfect, gem clear cubes nestled in a cluster of Calcite crystals. This looks a lot like some recent finds from the Llamas Quarry but this is slightly different and quite fine for the Jaimina. The Fluorite cubes are modified on the edges and are water clear with very glass-like faces. The Calcites are scalenohedral, textured and have a milky to pale-yellow color making a nice contrast with the purple Fluorite.

Galena with Calcite, Quartz etc.
stock #10.1-297
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Russia
8.1 x 4.6 x 3.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $450
Fall 22

Esthetic Galena crystal that is well-exposed, sits at the top of mixed specie matrix. The main Galena is complete, sharp with some face etching, and is a modified cubo-octahedral form. From the famed mines of Dalnegorsk, which has been the source of some of the world's best Galenas. Displays well from almost any angle, there is no damage seen, and the luster ranges from satin to mirror bright.

Wardite and Crandallite - USA classic
stock #22.1-357
Little Green Monster Mine, Clay Canyon
Utah, United States
6.3 5.4 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $290
Fall 22

A half nodule of classic Fairfield Utah Phosphate minerals. An older specimen from the era of Over and Montgomery (1930s) at the Green Monster Mine, this is lightly polished and shows well-defined banding of species. The white core of this is likely Fluorapatite but it has not been analyzed.

Datolite on Prehnite with Calcite
stock #22.1-663
Lane Quarry, Westfield, Hampden Co.
Massachusetts, United States
4.9 x 3.7 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $440
Fall 22

Colorful Northeastern USA classic specimen. From the Lane Quarry (Massachusetts) this is a bright apple -green Prehnite base featuring a sharp, lustrous white Datolite and bright orange Calcites. This Basalt quarry was at one time famed as the source of the world's best Babingtonites, and some of the best Datolites as well. Since then, the Chinese Babingtonites and Russian Datolites have taken those crowns. However colorful combinations like this are unusual and unlike specimens from other world localities. The center is in excellent condition, only minor outer edge roughness is noted.
